Because a mechanical transmission needs regular maintenance and often causes unplanned downtime, the direct drive rotary motor technology fundamentally improves the reliability of the machine, reduces the maintenance time and reduces the control difficulty.
Frameless direct drive rotary motor
The frameless direct drive rotary motor is the "grandfather" of direct drive motor technology. There is no doubt that they provide the most compact mechanical servo solutions at present. The frameless direct drive rotary motor adopts independent rotor and stator instead of bearing. These parts become an integral part of the machine, in addition to the necessary feedback devices. They are ideal for applications where machine space is limited or where total weight has a critical impact.
These motors are custom-made in nature, so they are more expensive, requiring weeks or even months of design and integration time. In addition, once the system fails, the removal and replacement process of the motor or feedback device is also extremely complex. Therefore, frameless direct drive rotary motor technology is not suitable for every application. Its most widely used applications are in airborne and ground vehicles, such as aiming control of night vision devices, radar systems and weapon systems, as well as high-end industrial applications with high requirements for size, weight or performance, such as robots or precision grinders.
